Engine Mechanical problem
1996 Chevy Corsica 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a problem with this engine staling while slowing down.....before a complete stop. Also it will rev high and not kick down til it does it on its own...usually about 20 seconds. Runs up to about 2500 rpms. And last....where the throttle cable is on this car, should there be more than one cable there?

Hi:
The number of cables is determined by options. As far as the engine, it sounds like either a throttle position sensor (TPS) or idle air control valve (IAC). To start, I would recommend taking it to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan it for codes. Most will do it for free.

Let me know what you find.
