My car has recently been getting terrible gas mileage, smoking black smoke when accellerating, and surging or jerking when cruising. I recently replaced my MAP sensor. It still has same symptoms. My next guess is a fuel pressure regulater. Any help would be great.

Your guess might be right-if you check the fuel pressure -pull the vacuum hose at the regulator do you see fuel-if so you've located the problem
