1995 Chevy Corsica oil dripping from behind the starter

car runs rough,fast idle sometimes stalls,Isee the oil dripping from the front behind the starter ,this makes some big puddles in a small time,were do i look,

Hi:

Your oil leak could be coming from a couple different places. The most common is right from the oil filter itself. It could be loose or the last time it was replaced, the old gasket could have stuck to the engine. When you put the new filter on with its new gasket, you double gasket the filter wich will not seal. Check that first. Next, the valve cover gasket could be leaking from above, or the oil pan may have a leak. The best thing to do is take the car to the car-wash, steam clean the engine, drive home and then look to see if you can find the problem. If the engine is oil soaked, it will be very difficult to locate the leak.
