not sure if it;s the heater core ,very small line coming from firewall dripping very steady with heater off, not drippy when heater is on

thought I saw antifreeze ,but it looks more like water

Maybe a condensation line?

Is the coolant level dropping at all?

Any loss of heat?

no loss of heat when full, res will not stay full

Without seeing it, its hard to say what the line is. IF it goes into the firewall, it is probably part of the heater core.
