Be sure you're using the correct refrigerant too. By '94, most vehicles had switched to the newer R-134. It can not be mixed with the older R-12.

If the container doesn't empty within a minute or two with the engine running, place the can in a pot of hot water. Always keep the top of the can up so vapor enters the system. Liquid refrigerant that gets into the compressor can lock it up.
