I replaced the heater core in my '93 Chevy Corsica last winter and the heat was still not very warm so had a new thermostat put in a couple months ago..still tepid heat. Not enough to defrost ice!
I pulled into mechanics shop last week and just as I did the radiator hose ($70 item) blew up. They replaced that and told me it was probably the head-gasket that was leaking as a reason for my heater problems!
The car runs like a little "Singer" sewing machine and I hate to let it go but don't feel like I can afford to pay the labor involved in replacing head gasket. Could it be something else? Is it possible it's just the water pump? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you. Deanna
