My friends Corsica has been "stalling", she says it will start to accelerate then kind of fall on it's face and so on. We think it might be the fuel filter????

by what she's describing it could be several things, I would first check the idle air control valve,(air filter too,pcv valve). then check your mapp sensor, check plugs and wires for safe measure too.
