I've heard many different theories on how to remove my oil pan. All of them sound like alot more parts being removed than necassary. Looking for some clarification on what parts really need to come off.

I believe all you need to do is disconnect the motor mounts and lift the engine for it to come out. It's been some time since I did one. Is there a lot in your way? Also, you will need to remove the starter to access the bolts behind it.
