1991 Chevy Corsica oil problem

1991 Chevy Corsica Engine Size unknown Four Wheel Drive Manual 142.00 miles

when i start the car it drives fine then i stop and the oil lght goes on i drive then it goes off the car runs ok when the light is on i check oil often what might it be? ty

Check the engine oil pressure by using an oil pressure tester if its normal replace the oil sending unit. If its low engine bearings/oil pump/clogged pick-up screen/oil filter/galleries'disconnected pick-up tube etc. Serious problem. Oil pan has to come down for close order inspection.
