1990 Chevy Corsica voltage regulator

1990 Chevy Corsica 4 cyl Automatic

It looks as though the voltage regulator is built into the alternator. But the parts store said it could be seperate, but I couldn't locate one seperate. Where do I find the voltage regulator?
