I have an 89 Corsica I just bought. The guy I bought it from said the freeze plugs need to be replaced. But he said that the motor and the trans have to be pulled apart to do this. Now this sounds somewhat extreeme to me for just a freeze plug. It's the little 4cyl fwd from 89 so just how hard could it be right? If this is much harder then I'm thinking and he is right could you let me know?
Thanks in advance,
Nick

There is a freze plug between the trans and motor on the 4cyl. And the best way to change is to remove them. Why did he say they needed to be replaced?

Well he said they were rusted out. And the one on the front of the block was rusted out. It has a small hole rusted in it. I'm guessing I will be having to pull the trans from the driver side to access the plug at all then. And I'm guessing this would be costly at a shop too. Bought this thinking "easy fix" and then resale. I only paid around 100 bucks for it. Come to find out I'm going to have to put some brake pads on it too but thats nno biggie.
