2006 Chevy Colorado 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

my truck just recently started sputtering when it is idle, it feels like it going to shut off. the Check Engine light is also on. just wondering what it might be?

IF the check engine light is on, there will be a
trouble code stored in the computer. Take the truck to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer. They will do it for free, so there is no money out of pocket.
