The fan blower switch works on #4 100% of the time but speeds 1-3 work about 2% of the time and bumps in the road will cause the fan to cut on or off. ( Speed 1-3). Chevy dealer mentioned possibility of bad switch, relay and or relay plug. I need part prices and schematics to replace defective parts. If you guys can help I would greatly appreciate it.

I had the same problem. The fan speed resistor is located next to the fan on the passengers side under the glove box. It is a multi wire plug that you disconnect and remove two screws and replace the resistor. Take the part to the store with you because most parts places will look at you like YOU don't know what your talking about when you ask for this part. Advanced Auto had it. Then you will only have this same problem less often. I still have my issues with the fan speed cutting in and out, might be the plug it self.

Hello,

It sounds more like the blower motor is not working right. Here is a guide to help you test the blower motor and replace it is found to be bad.

Here is a wiring diagram for the blower motor system so you can see how the system works (below)

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
