2007 Chevy Cobalt whistling/fan noise

2007 Chevy Cobalt 4 cyl Automatic 54,000 miles

The noise is hard to explain. When I turn on the car I do not hear it, but as soon as I press the gas it makes a sort of high pitch whistling noise. The harder I press the gas the faster or higher the sound sounds. If I have the car in park it will still make the sound when I press the gas.

Make sure air intake system is on securely, could be a simple clamp is loose.
