2006 Chevy Cobalt when i turn my car off..

When i turn my 2006 chevy cobalt ss off
I get a TING TING TING TING sound coming from underneith the car. it is standard and im just learning how to drive it since its my first car.
My mom said its normal, its the exhaust system cooling off, but this noise is LOUD and i can hear it 10 parking spots away from my car, after 30 mins this noise eventually fades away.
is this something to panic about?
my roomates 2007 honda manual doesnt make this noise!

sounds like the exhaust shield cooling down sometimes they get loose from hitting things or loosen up from expassion and contraction.if u are really concern about it u can have it checked out just to be on the safe side.let me know what u find.
