Engine Performance problem
2006 Chevy Cobalt 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My fuel eco went from 33 mpg to 12.6 mpg. You can hear it missing. I changed the plugs and plug wires. I tried b12 and a higher-octane fuel. The car dies when I am driving in city with the AC on. When I changed the plugs, one of them was missing the posts (the part of the plug you gap). I put a magnet down where the plug goes but nothing came out. I am about to replace the fuel filter. The car has 122,000 miles on it but has been regularly maintenance. What should my next stop be please?
