2006 Chevy Cobalt EXHAUST LEAK?

I HAVE TAKEN MY COBALT TO 3 SHOPS TO HAVE IT LOOKED ABOUT A WHIRRING NOISE THAT OCCURS WHEN THE ACCELERATION IS PRESSED....1 SHOP HAS TOLD ME ITS THE MOTOR MOUNT AND THE OTHER 2 HAVE TOLD ME ITS AN EXHAUST LEAK SO BEFORE I GO TO GET IT LOOKED AT I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE THATS WHAT IT WAS BASED ON THE SYMPTOMS I HAVE ENCOUNTERED FROM THE CAR. THANKS

Hi there,

I would not be thinking a mount, i would be checking belts, pulley bearings first, it will be something turning with the engine, an exhaust leak will normally not make this type of noise either.
