2006 Chevy Cobalt clutch??

my cars clutch went out and i want to know if i need a whole new clutch or just a certain part i can put my car in any gear and let the clutch completly out and it will not stall or move it just sits there.....what could the problem be i think it might be the pressure plate but i could be wrong

If you can put in any gear without grinding then clutch is working. Does pedal pressure seem the same? More likely something has let go in transaxle.
Are axles CV joints good?
