Just failed emissions test. They gave me codes p0420 and p0455. I did how every drive for a while without a gas cap on (a few months). I recently replaced it, could that be the cause for both failures?

Yes, it could. Keep in mind, the vehicle has a 5 year 50K emissions warranty from the manufacturer. They will repair or replace any emissions component that fails 100% during that time period. I believe your car falls under that at this time.
