I have a 1981 Chevy Citation. The engine light rarley comes on when I turn the ignition on. Once in a while I will notice it come on. On those days while I'm driving the engine light will come on for maybe a min. A go off. I tested it using the old fashion way of a paper clip and it's coming up with the code 44 for is a lean oxygen sensor. I read some others questions about this and it is suggested to change the mass air flow sensor. Well my car is old it doesn't have one. Should I just change the sensor?

Could be Map sensor or low fuel pressure.A intake air leak are somethings that will set this code. Take a vo;t meter pull connecter on O2 place pos. Lead to O2 wire neg. To block. Run engine 1V at idle rev ergine vots should drop. If you get no response replace O2.
