Engine Performance problem
1997 Chevy Cheyenne V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 150K miles

new distributer cap. new spark plugs.
Engine idles at 1000 rpm even when warm and won't restart unless accelerator pedal is to the floor.
Starts good with cold engine, runs smoothly even when hot.
Normal engine idle about 660 rpm.

It is most likely a vacuum leak.

Check intake gasket.

If you cannot find a leak, check fuel pressure and convertor backpressure.
