Today, I tried to open the hood of my truck. I went online to this website and followed MasterTechTim's advice which was the following:

"you need a flashlight and a long screwdriver and pop it open through the grill. look where the cable goes in and there is a little hook that cable goes on, pry that towards the cable and it should open. "

Well, I saw the small cable through the hole of the hook and pryed, and I broke it. Now I do not have a cable. What is my next step? Do I have to take the grill off?

I can take a pair of needle-nose pliers and pull the hook out, but there is something esle that is keeping the hood latched. What is that other part?

Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

you cant take the grill off unless the hood is open. if you cant get it open then take it to a pro.
