My 1995 chevy 1500 v6 pickup all of a sudden started losing power and sounded like it was starving for gas it would just buck and at idle would go from low to high ghigh to low and service engine lite would come on. Not sure if its a bad fuel filter vacume leak or egr valve can't figure this one out. Low idle then high idle only will go 5 miles an hour on flat ground please help.

You need to scan the computer for code/s this is your starting point of diagnosis finding out what's causing the MIL to come on.

Try cleaning out the idle air control valve/EGR and PCV valves and test the throttle position sensor and manifold absolute pressure sensor. Also check if the catalytic converter is clogged-up

Lean fuel condition could be caused by one of the following below:

1. Vacuum leaks
2. EGR and PCV valve.
3. Low fuel pressure.
4. Dirty fuel injectors.
