I am wanting to up grade my a/c unit but I have the old r-12 a/c unit. Do I need to buy a new compressor, condenser, and accumulator for the conversion or can they just suck out my old r-12 and replace with r-134a without buying new parts

Hi there,

You will need to remove the compressor and replace the oil to one suited to the new refrigerant. Replace the receiver dryer and two new pressure hose couplings will be required.

Are you having any problems with your current r12? If not I would leave it in my opinion r12 is a lot colder
