ive have installed a starter, i bought it from advanced auto parts and its started fine once, but i shut it off and tried to start it again and it will kick in and turn the fly wheel it will stay disengaged and spin. what do u think the problem is?

Shim it you're to far from the flexplate-sooner or later you'll mess up the starter pinion drive. You sure you got the correct starter?
