Engine Performance problem
1976 Chevy Chevelle V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Installed a new distributer, plugs coil, wires, etc etc. Idles fine, when in PARK runs fine @1500-3000 RPM. However, when driving the truck it coughs, spits barely runs. But as soon as its in PARK it smoths out and is fine. I have tried advancing the timing, fuel / air mixture. Nothing changes HELP! Thanks

You don't say what you have timing at, be sure vac advance is hooked to ported vacuum, maybe advancing too far, check the float in the carb, it's possible engine is leaning out under load. Good Luck, Lou
