Engine Mechanical problem
1975 Chevy Chevelle V8 Automatic 60000 miles

The back passenger side tire moved forward on drive when on a jack stands and the back driver side tire did not move. When I put the car on neutral and turned the differential, both back tires moved forward. When I turned one back tire, the other one turned to the opposite direction. I put the jack stands on front to see if the front tires will move and they both moved without any problem.
I am currently out of trouble shouting tips and I am in a desperate need for help. By the way, it's a 1975 Chevy Chevelle V8, 350 engine with an automatic transmission.
The transmission fluid level is normal.
The differential fluid level is normal.
By the way, I have heard a noise on the back tires before the car stopped moving forward.

There is no problem wit the rear end of your vehicle. What you are describing is a rear end that does not have a posi carrier. This is normal. What it means is that when the car is on the ground only one rear wheel pushes the car. If you would do a burn out you would notice only one tire mark. That is why only one tire moves up on the stands. Posi units allow both rear tires to do the work. But at any rate the real issue is the car not going forward. This is a transmission issue. The car most likely has a 350 transmission, it will need rebuilt. Or you can get a replacement. These turbo 350 transmission are pretty cheap now adays. A local junk yard may have one it it has older cars sitting around. If you take it to someone dont let them charge too much.

Hi, I'm a little confuse. I need your help. When the car is on drive and on stands, the passenger rear tire moves forward without any problem. If I understand the transmission is bad even thou it works on drive on stands. Please help me understand a little bit more about this situation. Thanks.

Since the car was up on jack stands there was essentialy no load on the drivetrain. With the car on the ground the motor and trans needs to transfer enough torque to roll the weight of the car.
