Engine Mechanical problem
1971 Chevy Chevelle V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a project car with a chevy 350. The car has been setting for 9 years. It has new wires, and plugs. The points, cap & rotor look ok, but I'm not getting spark. I don't want to just start replacing parts.

Where should I start?
What do you suspect it is?
What other advice would you give me regarding resurrecting a car that has been sitting?

Check the coil primary and secondary winding resistances and also check the contact point gap
