1969 Chevy Chevelle car starts continuesly

1969 Chevy Chevelle V8

i put the key in the ignition and i turn it and it goes continuesly. the engine keeps going by itself and i turn key back and it still does it.

Could be the starter shorting out internally or the ignition switch
