Check the fuel pressure make sure its within specs just bcuz its new could be defective

35 psi, can hear it run for about 5 seconds and then shut off.What can shut a car off after it starts?

Hmmm check the fuel pump and oil pressure sending unit it powers the fuel pump after it fires up.
