1989 Chevy Celebrity fuel pump

Engine Performance problem
1989 Chevy Celebrity 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Where is the fuel pump and also the fuel filter located on the 89 chevy celebrity eurosport 6cyl. I have the same surging as one of the other posts and need to go for smog check. I also get small backfires when surging and have been told most possible could be fuel filter or pump.

The fuel filter is underneath your hood, behind the passenger side headlight, behind the core support and fuel pump is in the fuel tank.

Thank you....I would NEVER have looked by the headlight till I traced the rest of the fuel line under the car. You saved me a lot of time and trouble.
