1987 Chevy Celebrity something wrong with the igniton

to start my stearing column is super loose.i must have turned it to hard because now when i try and start it nothing happens ill get the ding ding ding when i put then key in but when i turn it nothin.also i noticed that a rod on the right side has snaped at the top of the column i can see from the inside that its broken

have a pro look at this as it's steering an dyou dont want to mess something up with that. they shold be actually save you money by them fixing it correctly.
