Hey there, my darn check engine light came on today and I took it to a local auto store to have them hook it up to their machine. I found out it was PO440. However, looking through this website I found the code that he gave me and he had mentioned something about purge....PO441 says "purge" so anyways..am I in big trouble? Should I be driving when my check engine light is on? What is the cheapest route around this problem, keep in mind I am a poor college student :)

i can give you 1 idea for now due to i can't log on to my diagnostic server at this time, did you leave the gas cap off or loose? sometimes when this happens it will set off an evap code and the engine light will come on. by the way give me the make, model, engine size and year of the vehicle. get the code cleared and see if it comes on again, if so, and as soon as i can get access to my diagnostics server, we'll go further. good luck
