BRAKES STICK

I HAVE A 1997 CHEVY CAVALIER 2.2. WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES HARD THE REAR LOCKS UP, BANGS, RELEASES AND DOES IT AGAIN UNTIL THE CAR STOPS. IS IT THE ABS OR WHAT, I JUST DONT KNOW. PLEASE ADVISE.

The abs is fine, your rear brake shoes need replacing, remachine the drums and repalce the shoe return springs, you should be ok. :D
