very low mileage since we no longer take car in for regular oil changes at company..check ourselves ..still get filter changed ..did so recently...air filter is clean..now do town driving for job but highway is no better when travelling

why is the mileage not as great as it was the first three years we had the car

Wear and tear on the engine and fuel system, weather conditions, Ethanol in the fuel, more traffic, etc

Of course it does. It's computer controlled. That doesn't make it as efficient as it was new. The fuel isn't the same as it was then either.
