2005 Chevy Cavalier eratic idle

eratic idle when coming to a stop, and when it engages in over drive. Weve changed spark plugs/ wires. fuel filter and cleaned plentium. Note the wrong spark plugs were in there for about a year. did not know that.

Remove and clean the Idle Air Control valve, which controls idle.

If no effect, the TCC may not be disengaging. The TCC is the torque convertor clutch lockup, if it does not disengage, it will cause stalling.
