i got a 2004 cavalier it just shut down on me drivin it fires but it will die some times when put it in gear or touch the break and when its in neutrul it will run the sputter idel high the die, its ideling about 5 to 6 hundered rpm

open hood and check for vacuum leaks
check fluids and oil level
check fuel pressure
and check for codes
