I replaced the head gasket on a 2.2l ecotec cavalier taking care in marking the cam and chain as not to mess with timing. Put it all back together and it's running rough. Took it for a short drive and now hunts at an idle. Thought I lined everything back in the right spot. Could I be off a tooth or could it bee something else. It drives like normal down the road, just at an idle am I hunting.

Hi:

If it drives normaly down the road, chances are you got it back together correctly. If the problem is at an idle, I would look for a vacuum leak. Retrace your steps making sure all of the hoses are replaced properly, none of them came off or got damaged.

Let me know what you find or if you have any other questions.
