Our Cavalier's gas and temp gauge are crazy sometimes - the gas gauge never reads the correct amount. We fill her up and she still reads empty, then turn it off and it goes to 3/4 full etc. etc. The temp guage at certain times (not always) goes from standard reading up to past red zone. It is now all the way over to the other side of reading sometimes it hangs over the speedometer so the speedometer doesn't work - any suggestions?

I have an 04 cavalier too and sometimes the fuel gauge will go past the full spot and sometimes the speedo will stop working and read 120 ish... then the next day if i turn the key on and try to start the motor but let off the key before it starts the speedo will slowly go down. from what i've been reading about the problem with all of the gauges is that chevy had a problem with the instrument panel and the only way to fix it is to get a new one put in.. so i've heard... but with mine for the gas i just keep track of the miles and fill up at about 200 to 350 miles i think 200 miles is about 1/2 a tank
