2004 Chevy Cavalier Engine Size unknown Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 42000 miles

Recently my check engine light came on. I have been having trouble with my speedometer quiting on me when I put the car on cruise so I just stopped using my cruise contrlol. But when this happens I just replace the cluster fuse in my car and it resets the speedometer.

Do you think this is why my check engine light is coming on? If so what needs to be replaced and approx. How much money am I lookin at to fix it?

Best thing to do now is to have the code read, thats why the check engine light comes on! This will point us in the right direction, go to autozone, they will check the codes for free. May be a VSS, but we will know more after the codes are pulled.
