2003 Chevy Cavalier Hood replacement

I replaced my hood. The loop that connect the hood to the latch mechinism is missing from the new hood. I am not sure what it is actually called so I am having a hard time locating one.

I would go to a salvage yard and show them on one of their cars. I take it the old one was no good.
