i have a 03 Chevy cavalier.The speedometer works some days and some days it don't.If i take the battery posts off it will work for a little bit.what could be the problem and can it be fixed easy.

You can try replacing the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) on the trans. It sends a signal to PCM that converts data into MPH. It sounds like the VSS is sending bad info and the PCM cannot interpert it.
