Engine Mechanical problem
2003 Chevy Cavalier 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

THE CAR QUIT ON ME SO I PUT ON A NEW FUEL FILTER AND WHEN THE NEW ONE WOULDNT WORK TOOK IT OFF AND THERE WAS NO GAS GETTING TO IT. THE OLD ONE HAD BLACK RUBBER LOOKING PARTICLES IN IT WHEN DUMPED INTO THE PAN. THE FUSES ARE BOTH GOOD. IS IT THE FUEL PUMP OUT OR SOMETHING ELSE

To rule out the fuel pump you need to check the actual fuel pressure using a fuel pressure tester designed for your system.

The fuel pump is gone-that's if you're getting power to it and not producing pressure.
