Interior problem
2003 Chevy Cavalier Front Wheel Drive Automatic 72150 miles

My daughter locked her keys in her car the other day and one of her friends tried to use a slide bar to get it open. It damaged the outside drivers siide door handle. I just took off the interior door panel and see that there is a long thin rod that is just hanging there. It is threaded on the end but I don't know how or where it connects to the inside of the door panel. It is attached to the door handle at the top but I don't know where to attach it. Help

It should attach to the latch. However, if the threaded side is hanging, I would think something is broken. Check around the latch assembly to see if there is a broken piece hanging.

Let me know what you find.
