Hello,
It sounds like there is an issue with the ABS module. The ABS module controls the traction control as a part of the electronic brake control module.
When there is an issue with the module it will trigger the traction control light or the ABS light and you will not be able to use the cruise control. This is due to a safety feature.
That control module is located right below the master cylinder under the hood (see diagram).
It seems that every time you start the vehicle it resets itself but triggers the fault after driving for certain period of time. It could be due to internal temperature of the module.
