Electrical problem
2002 Chevy Cavalier 6 cyl Automatic 200000 miles

we have picked up a used cluster that was working when taken from the old car had a mechanic install and he is saying that the odometer will not light up. My question is
is there something you need to do like turn on car and light etc. to get the odometer to register and light up
Thank you in advance for your help

Computer of vehicle should detect the odometer and show actual mileage of vehicle same as before switching cluster. Ensure that all wiring is hooked up correctly, no fuses/relays are blown and ...did you notice if the odometer was lighting up in the other vehicle before purchasing used part?
