whenever my car is in 1st gear and low speeds in 2nd the car makes a grinding noise, however when i depress the clutch pedal the sound goes away, the problem used to only come about when i would engage the clutch a little roughly, however it seems to be pretty consistant now. someone said that its the throw out bearing thats worn out, however im really hoping its not,
any thoughts?

Hi there,

A noisy thrust bearing would be there in any gear, i would get a mechanic to test drive this with you as this will be the best way to check this noise, a thrust will often go quiet when the pedal is pressed, so i still would not rule this out at this stage.
