Wanted to know if my transmission is going bad. I just got the car out of the shop and they had to replace the engine and I did that, but he told me that the car is not shifting into the 3rd and 4th gears and he told me not to drive the car over 30 mph unitl I get it checked out. Is this a sign of my transmission going bad? What could the problem be? Please advise

Could be a lot of things. Check the fluid level, make sure it is full. Look for any leaks.
Beyond that, have it evaluated by a reputable trans. Shop (get more than one opinion). It could be a linkage problem, solenoid, vacuum, torque convertor or many other things.
