2001 Chevy Cavalier Warning lights on

There are many warning lights that suddenly turned on including the TRAC OFF, Battery, Fuel, and Oil pressure. As soon as they turned on, my car wouldn't steer and it died. The engine shakes vigorously after a few seconds of turning on the ignition and it wont stay on. I was about to replace my gaket valve cover today, was I to late?
