2001 Chevy Cavalier vcm programming

ok, so a while back i replaced the VCM? in this car. somone was supposed to program everything for me but has since disappeared.

so, there's no radio and the odometer reset and all that lovely stuff.

my question is: do i need any special equipment to program these things so that they work again? or is it fairly simple to do?

Are you talking about the PCM (Powertrain Control Module)? Some people call it VCM (Vehicle Control Module).

PCM must be reflashed after replacement. This is done by dealer or trusted garage with necessary equipment.
The cost of this software is VERY expensive and only dealers and some garages will have it.
